Reasons Why an Unplanned Trip Could be Worth It

Nate · January 3, 2020 · Leave a Comment

When you decide to travel, you think about every detail so that the trip will be perfect. In a way, you’re doing the right thing. You need to plan each aspect of your trip if you want it to succeed. However, it’s also advantageous if you decide to have an unplanned trip. These are the best reasons to try not planning every significant detail of your next adventure.

You will have a new experience

It’s freeing to have a new experience. The trip itself is something new, but it’s even better when you don’t anticipate every part of the journey. A planned trip already gives you an idea of what will happen. You might also see some photos online. The trip will still be fun, but the anticipation takes away the excitement. Therefore, a new experience requires you to drop some parts of the planning process.

You will learn from your mistakes

The reason why some people hesitate going on a trip without any plan is that they’re afraid of committing errors. The truth is that you will learn a lot from any mistakes. You can use them to become better at dealing with future trips. You might worry about them at first, but you will eventually realise that such mistakes are laughable. Whether you get lost or misinterpret the directions given to you, it’s worth laughing at as you look back on your experience.

It’s more satisfying

You will face lots of challenges when you decide to go on an unplanned trip. Surviving all of them will make the experience more satisfying. You will feel great that you overcame them and needed little help in the process. Once you try doing it once, you won’t hesitate to do it again.

You will have more memorable moments

When you’re in an uncertain situation, you have a lot of reasons to worry. However, when you look back at your crazy adventure several years from now, you will feel good about it. You won’t forget such trips since everything went smoothly even if nothing was planned.

Go on a random adventure

If you want to avoid getting lost in a big city on your next trip, your next random adventure could be in a local destination. Try to find big houses to rent and don’t research a lot about every available feature. It would help if you didn’t mind the cost either. When you decide to rent a house in the right place, you can bet that it will be a great experience. You will enjoy your stay and might even choose to extend it.

Unless you’re with your children, you can take a random adventure. It will probably be the best trip you will ever have. Even if it isn’t, you will still find it fascinating. You can try to do it again next time and see where it goes. Bring a friend with you so you can experience the crazy adventure together and laugh at what happens.
